A Certificate Signing Request (CSR) is an encoded file that is used to request a digital signature from a Certificate Authority (CA). The CA checks the information provided in the CSR to verify the authenticity of the request before signing and issuing the certificate. CSRs are used to securely identify and authenticate your identity and secure communications over the internet.
For information about CSR, please view guidance on this topic from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
